WHAT TYPE OF VOLCANO IT IS
  • Bezymianny is located on the southeast slope of
the extinct volcano Kamen. The Location is
    55.98N, 160.58E. The Elevation is 9,453 feet
(2,882 m). Bezymianny is 800 meters in diameter.
Bezymianny is located on a fault which runs in a
northeast to southwest direction. A large portion
of the volcano is made of a thick mass of light

LAVA
  • Lava on the lower slopes of bezymianny are
covered by loose pyroclastic deposits. Many
flows of lava composed of darker augite
originating from this crater partly reaching the
bottom of the volcano. When the lava cools it
turns grayish black and into an igneous rock.

History of eruptions
  • Bezymianny has erupted 34 times. Eruptions occur
once or twice a year. The most recent eruption
was December 2001, there was an ash cloud had
risen to an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 km. Then a
tremor began on march 15 the volcano started
erupting again. The eruptions have never caused
any casualties but it did burn a lot of the
    peoples land.

5
Why is the volcano located where it is?
  • Bezymianny is located in Kamchatka, Russia
because two continental plates converged to make
    Bezymianny.
  • This Volcano is currently active because it
    erupts twice every year.

6
Some interesting facts about bezymianny
