Purpose

• To provide the consumer (the lost and their
  families) with a better unified search force
• To increase communication between the
  Pennsylvania Search and Rescue Council and the
  Pennsylvania Wing Civil Air Patrol

Objectives

• Provide for a mechanism that both organization
  can provide notification information for active
  searches
• Allow both organizations to communicate their
  currently available resources at the time of
  alert
• Provide for time to do initial pre-planning
  should an escalation of the event should occur
  making additional resources available
• Provide both organizations with an orientation to
  each others assets, notification, and alerting
  procedures and protocols

Definitions

• Notification
• The act of making known the act of giving
  official notice or information to the public or
  to individuals, corporations, companies, or
  societies, by words, by writing, or by other
  means.
• Sharing information between PSAR members and PAWG
  CAP as to missions that are occurring and the
  chance of employing one anothers resources.
• Alerting
• Alarming from a real or threatened danger
• The official request for employment of resources.

• Initial Team continues prosecuting search
• Initial Team continues scene-size up
• Other agency gathers resource availability and
  starts response pre-planning as indicated by
  standard message
• Other agency may communicate resource
  availability to initial team / incident command
  staff
• Initial team / incident command staff make formal
  request for resources through official alerting
  procedures
• Initial team / incident command staff sends
  update information through notification process

  Possible resource needs, Coordinating Person and
  contact info
• We are responding to an incident, escalation is
  called for, official alerting process initiated
  high probability of escalation
• Mission Type, Area Description, Team Responding,

• Goal Keep it simple stupid in other
  words provide concise and necessary information
  keeping it brief enough to be sent to a Short
  Message Device (i.e. a pager or cell phone)
