Title: POSTTENSIONED CONCRETE COURTS
1POST-TENSIONED CONCRETE COURTS
2HISTORY OF POST-TENSIONED CONCRETE SLABS
- Post-tensioned concrete originated during the
1930s and was developed by a Frenchman Eugene
Freyssinet, who found that placing concrete under
compression added greatly to its strength. - In 1976, the post-tensioned institute was formed
due to growing interest in this field, however,
utilization of post-tensioned in tennis courts is
fairly new. - Courts were built in California in the late 70s
using post-tensioning, and it wasnt until 1982
that the USTC TBA had a general specification
for post-tensioned tennis court construction.
