When Did You Move Here?
  • Theda Hornug 1974
  • Corry Crump 1974
  • Pat Calderwood 1975
  • Larry Troy 1987
  • Sue Benoit 1972

3
Has the population grown, spread out, or changed
in the past 20 years?
  • T.H Yes
  • C.C It has grown and changed. Younger people
have moved here looking for a way to start their
    lives.
  • P.CL.T It has grown immensely
  • S.B It has changed greatly, too fast for me.

4
How has the communitys green and gray
infrastructure changed over the past 20 years?
  • TH It has been developed on (subdivisions). The
gray areas have influenced in the department of
the Commuter Rail. It was already here, but it
brought in a lot of people to live here so they
could move from Mansfield to Boston with no
    problem.
  • CCThe green infrastructure is mostly the same,
except for the taking over of more advanced
buildings, and the older ones are still in
perfect use for other purposes. For example, the
Jordan/Jackson replaced Roland Green and the Town
Hall which were once functioning schools. The
gray infrastructure is that 495, 95 and 140 were
not here. StopShop, the Industrial Park, the
YMCA, and the Library weren't here. West Street
was also a small street. The police station was
the same. Recreation has changed, and the look of
the town changed dramatically. The highways were
once houses and open land. Mansfield bought the
houses and land and made it into the highways.
Once the highways were made, many people started
coming into Mansfield. They eventually made the
Industrial Park, which brought in a lot of people
    for jobs.

Infrastructure CONT.
  • PC They've built much more recreation. In 2003
we obtained a new Shaws and in 2004, we will get
a Home Depot and a mall.
  • LT The town has taken better care of its parks
and has grown in the "gray areas" as the
    population grew.

How have these changes affected your lives?
  • TH They haven't affected us that much because we
    are in a local business.
  • PC It made life easier and more accessible. I am
from the city and even though I can't walk to
places, I can still drive in town to places that
I would need to go. More people commute, there's
a lot more city people here.
  • LT I like the town so I haven't thought of
moving even though my job is about an hour away
    from the town
