Know the Difference

• Stroke vs
• Stroke is a type of cardiovascular disease.
• It affects the arteries leading to the brain and
  within the brain.
• These arteries become blocked or burst blocking
  oxygen and nutrients to the brain.

• Heart Attack
• As you age fat builds up.
• This fat can cause damage to your blood vessel
  walls.
• This fat can stick to your arteries and cause
  blockage or slowed down blood flow.
• If blood does not flow oxygen can not get to the
  heart.

How will you react to an emergency?

• Know when and how to react.
• Recognize signs and take action immediately!
• Have family write down any important medical
  information.
• Practice emergency scenarios, discuss plans and
  action with other members of the family.
• Know CPR and be prepared to use it!
