fish and bird habitat. Plants are selected for
all season impact and for tolerance to the river
edge conditions.

LINCOLN HARBOR PARK
DETAIL PLAN
LINCOLN HARBOR PARK Has been redesigned as a
continuation of Weehawken Waterfront Park. The
new park includes a dog run, a lawn area for
informal recreation and several gathering areas.
A knoll buffers the esplanade from Harbor
Boulevard traffic and frames views across the
cove to the Hudson River. The knoll provides a
high point corresponding to landforms across the
cove, and offers extensive views of the river
from all sides. At the top of the knoll is a
seated gathering area oriented toward the river
views. The large central pavements creates space
for bands and the knoll forms a natural gazebo at
the center of the park. The east face of the
knoll is a Rock Overlook. The stepped rock face
is another informal gathering area with
spectacular views across the Hudson. The rock
face is functional, and emblematic of Weehawken.
The low bluff form will be visible from the river
and recall the Palisades geologic form behind to
the west.
