4
Removing the film
  • In complete darkness remove the film from the
    cassette using the can opener
  • Roll the film onto the spiral (this takes
practice try it first using exposed film in
    normal lighting)

5
Loading the Film
  • Cut off leader
  • Feed end into the opening of the spiral
  • Hold one side and rotate the other until it stops
  • When the whole film is on the spiral cut the
    spool off

6
Developing the Film
  • Three steps
  • The developer activates the light sensitive
    particles in the film
  • The stop stops the activation of particles in
the film (can reduce the appearance of over
    exposure)
  • The fix protects the photo from change over
time, and exposure to ultra violate rays.
  • Times and chemical concentrations vary with film
    manufactures, refer to your manufactures
    specifications for specific values

7
Rinse the Negatives
  • Wash away the chemical residues by running fresh
water into the developing tank for 30 minutes
  • Dish soap can prevent water stains
