24How Can MHV Support ACA?
- Improve access to care
- Empower veterans to partner with their health
care providers by sharing health information - Give veterans and their caregivers/families more
tools to help them more actively manage many
aspects of their own care scheduling,
medication renewal/refills, etc - Provide health care providers with a tool to
communicate with veterans - Provide time saving alternatives to in-person
patient encounters
25How Can MHV Support ACA?
- Improve access by reducing the number of patients
presenting with non-urgent problems - Patients who take a more active role in their
health care have been found to have improved
clinical outcomes and treatment adherence, which
reduces unnecessary clinic visits
