PURPOSE OF ENRL

• To gather enrollment data about students enrolled
  and attending on Sept. 20th
• To populate sections of the PBR and S066 reports
  that are used for state funding calculations and
  for some federal funding calculations

Submission Window

• 9/20/07-10/10/07
• Student data must be current as of September 20th

Students to Submit

• Records for all students enrolled and attending
  as of September 20th (per the September 20th
  rule).
• The attendance rule for virtual students is
  different!
• Students with Minutes Enrolled (D27) greater than
  0 will be used to populate the schools
  Principals Building Report (PBR) and the
  districts SO66 Report.

Who Submits?

• All accredited public and private schools in
  Kansas
• Every school builds its own PBRif multiple
  schools claim funding for the same students, then
  a report goes to the auditors

Reports Related to ENRL

Special Notes About ENRL

• Sending EXIT records will not remove students
  from the PBR
• Exit information cannot be submitted on an ENRL
  record
• Staff should review guidelines for submitting
  home schooled and virtual students
• Schools need only submit data in the
  required/optional fieldsdata in other fields
  will not be stored/validated

Special Notes About ENRL

• Any student attending a non-accredited Juvenile
  Detention Facility that is operated by your
  district will need to be submitted as part of the
  KIDS ENRL records in order to populate a new
  screen on the Superintendents Organizational
  Report (SO66) dedicated to these facilities.
  Such centers should be submitted with the Funding
  School (D16) of 0003, the Attendance School
  (D17) as the building number of the Juvenile
  Detention Facility where the student is
  attending, and the AYP School (D2) as the
  districts central office

Special Notes About ENRL

• Detailed information and guidelines about the
  September 20th rule and the students who can be
  counted for funding purposes during the ENRL
  Collection are posted at the KSDE Fiscal Auditing
  website. In addition, KSDE School Finance
  publishes documentation regarding Federal and
  State regulations and definitions that relate to
  funding. These documents have been shared with
  all school and district administrators.

Special Notes About ENRL

• As principals review their PBR reports and
  superintendents review their SO66 reports, they
  will be directed to research values based on KIDS
  ENRL submissions. KIDS users can share detailed
  data with the principals, superintendents, and
  program staff by either exporting the appropriate
  KIDS reports to Excel, or by encouraging
  principals, superintendents, and program staff to
  register for Read-Only access to the KIDS
  Collection system.

Special Notes About ENRL

• D20 Virtual Education Student If a student is
  marked as a Virtual Education Student in field
  D20, then fields D55 D57 (Transportation
  Address, Transportation City, and Transportation
  Zip Code) must contain the residence address,
  city, and zip code for that virtual student.
• D47- Technical Education Student Is NOT required
  for ENRL MILT. Only D48 Technical Education
  Contact Minutesmust be submitted to ENRL for
  tech ed funding.
