7th/8th Grade Program
  • Reason for change in program
  • Due partially to lose of middle school funding
  • Allows all players to get more time on the field
  • Build competitiveness in players by playing
    against similar skill sets
  • All players will get same skills and drills
  • All players will get same opportunity with PLHS
    coaches
  • Minnesota Development Football League (MDFL)
  • Play Southern Metro youth programs
  • Opportunity to play in league playoffs
  • 18-20 players per team
  • 7th/8th Grade In House Teams
  • Combining 7th and 8th graders to create 5-6 teams
  • Teams will be chosen by draft format
  • 16-18 players per team
  • 10 games, with regular season and playoffs
  • All games at Ponds or Twin Oaks

  • Evaluations
  • Initial evaluations start week of Aug 4, 2008
  • Final evaluation night Aug 12, 2008
  • Team selection on Aug 13, 2008
  • If players not available, will be assigned to
    team based on last season evaluations
  • Weather Contingency Program
  • We have created weather contingency for this
    season
  • We will advise weather contingency plan via PLAY

Team Selection
  • Based on evaluations, players will be between
    MDFL and In House
  • MDFL teams divided evenly by skill sets
  • Lineman
  • Offensive Backs
  • Wide receivers
  • Linebackers
  • Defensive Backs
  • In House teams will be drafted by coaches
  • Coaching staff assigned with their sons
  • Coaches will choose players based on order in
    draft
  • Draft order based on rating of player evaluation
  • Balance of skill sets will be monitored by FB
    board

  • Passion for the game? Keep it positive!
  • Every one of these players are Lakers, and will
    play together some day
  • We all need to help each other out
  • Review Code of Conduct Policy
  • Zero tolerance period!
  • Let the players play, the coaches coach and the
    parents cheer!

  • Including new items to purchase shoes,
    sweatshirts, etc
  • One day for pickup 1pm-3pm

  • Teams announced on Aug 13, 2008
  • First games week of Aug 25, 2008
