1Internet and Interactivity Design II
- Sitemap design exercise
- Students were given free reign to design sitemaps
for use by a design team. - One of the challenges was to produce sitemaps
that are indicative of depth - of data in various areas of a website - you will
see a variety of approaches, some - using size of objects, others using scale of
pages and so on. - An additional question posed was Could any be
deployed as a user site map? - We invite you to browse these innovative maps and
post any comments to the eRoom conference.

9Author Mayuri Naik The Radial Mind Map shows the
main sections of the blog site, its information
levels and cross links between the sections.
This mind-map was first created as a sketch to
define the blog sections, its flow, and links,
the sections open for discussion / comment
option and depth of content. The use of the word
contd indicates that as the blog site develops
the new content will be added. The grey dotted
lines indicate the sections which will be
archived. Useful links is only a page provided
with a list of urls and on click of any url will
launch the site in a new window. This mind map
was referred to during the actual development
process of the popular culture blog site, and
acts more as a designer/developer reference than
user reference.
10Author Mayuri Naik This site map is a one level
hierarchical visual representation of the main
sections of the blog site and its relevant
topics. This site map could functions as a user
site map too, since the it is visually
categorized and also text names/labels are made
available to user.
