Ancient facts
  • Ancient Egyptians believed that gods and
    goddesses took part in creation. They believed
    that some gods and goddesses brought the flood
    every year, some offered protection, and some
    took care of people after they died. Others were
    either local gods who represented towns, or minor
    gods who represented plants or animals.

More Facts
  • The ancient Egyptians thought of Egypt as being
    divided into two types of land, the black land
    and the red land. black land was the fertile
    land on the banks of the Nile and The red land
    was the barren desert that protected Egypt on two
    sides.

The Egyptian Life
  • There where two types of families in the
    Egyptian way of life. The Noblemans family and
    the Farmers family.
  • One family is rich and lives a good life with
    servants and the other family is poor and has to
    do everything themselves.
  • The Farmers family didnt live very well and
    they were poor. They had meals of bread , meat ,
    fruit and beer on Reed mats.
  • The Noblemans family lived well and they were
    rich. They had meals of Bread ,meat, beer, figs,
    cakes, wines and dates.

Mummification
  • Ancient Egyptians buried dead bodies in open pits
    and leaves them to dehydrate in these pits and
    this creates natural mummies.
  • Later on they discovered a new method of burring
    there bodies. The ancient Egyptians would bury
    them in coffins but they decay to quickly so they
    began to embalming and wrapping these dead bodies
    , this method became known as mummification.

Pharaohs
  • The pharaoh was the most POWERFUL person on the
    land. He/She was the political and religious
    leader.
  • Lord of the Two Lands the pharaoh was the ruler
    of both upper and lower Egypt. He/she owned all
    of the land. He/she made laws, collected taxes
    rituals and built temples to honor the gods, and
    defended Egypt against foreigners.
  • The pharaoh or High Priest of Every Temple,
    represented the gods on Earth. He/ she performed.

Pyramids
  • The ancient egyptians built pyramids to bury
    there deceased Pharaohs and Queens.
  • They were buried in pyramids of different shapes
    and sizes
  • They where built from before the begging of the
    old kingdom and the end of the middle kingdom

Temples
  • The ancient Egyptians believed that the Gods and
    Goddesses lived there.
  • They dedicated a temple to each God or Goddess
    and there they were worshipped by temple priest
    and Pharaohs.
  • The walls were made of stone to last forever.

  • The ancient egyptian civilization lasted over
    Three Thousand years
  • During this time there where many changes to the
    way the lived but in many aspects of their way
    of life remained the same.
  • For example Their basic culture ,
    religion and artistic style.
