Introductory Unit Lesson 1 Familiarisation
with the playground, and gaining a sense of
place.
  • Class walk around the playground to familiarise
    children with the relative locations of
    playground games and furniture. Discussion in
    the field of playground features and their
    spatial relationship to each other.
  • This field walk was also an ideal opportunity
    to verbally trial the 4 senses technique,
    enabling the children to get a sense of place
    by expressing what they could see, hear, and
    smell, and how they felt.
