Problem

• What will be the effect of gravity on the
  growth of the plant?

Hypothesis

• I think the leaves on the plants will all be
  different because of gravity.

Materials

• Paper towel
• Tap water
• 5 bean seeds
• 1 rubber band
• Masking tape
• 8- inch 20-cm square piece of cardboard
• 1 permanet marker
• 1 gallon 4liter resealable plastic bag

Procedure

• Take the paper towel and fold it three times.
• Then moisten the paper towel with water.
• Place the 5 bean seeds on the paper towel and
  place them 3 cm apart and make sure that on each
  paper towel the beans seeds are a different way.
• Then fold one end of the paper towel over the
  first bean and continue folding the paper towel
  from end to end to form a roll.

• Then rap the rubber band around the bean
  roll.
• Tape the bean roll to the center of the
  cardboard.
• On the board draw an arrow above one of the open
  ends.
• Take the cardboard and place it inside a

• plastic bag so the arrow points toward the open
  end of the bag then seal the bag.
• Tape the bag in a upright position to any
  stationary vertical object that allows a good
  view of the bag like a window.
• Then observe the bean roll for seven days or
  until roots or stems form at the ends of the
  bean roll.

Observation

• The seeds that I put left had all began to grow a
  different way then I think plants usally grow
  because it started to grow in a u shape and the
  shell was still on the seed alittle bit but right
  about to fall off.
• The seeds that I put right are very different
  then I thought they would look because they
  looked like they were schished and the shell is
  still on alittle bit and also most of the seeds
  have atlease 1 leaf on it and some have 2 leaves.

Observation continuing

• The seeds that I put going up have 2 that have
  started to crack out of the shell and 2 have
  grown alot.One looks dead because it got schished
  and the ones that grew have 2 leaves each.
• The seeds that I put going down has 3 that have
  started to grow and 1 that hasnt even started to
  crack out of its shell.They look like they are
  stuck to the paper towel.

• The seeds that I put diagonalgaly 2 have not
  started to crack threw their shells yet and 2
  have started to grow.

Conclusion

• The effect of gravity
• on the growth of the
• plants was harder for
• the plants to grow
• because they had to
• Push there way up.

• The leaves on the plants were not different then
  I thought they would be.
• The plants did not grow straight like they
  usually would do.

What I Have Learned

• I learned a lot about powerpoint like how to get
  pictures, where to change the font and how to
  show the slides.
• I learned a lot about my project. I learned a
  lot about plants and the growth of the plants. I
  thought it would be hard to do my project because
  I had to

• put the seeds on the paper towels and it was
  sort of confusing. After I did my project I
  thought it was easy and I was just worried to
  much if my project would work out or not.
