  • People travel for fun or from
  • necessity they commute to work, school,
  • Everyday form of travelling may be going
    shopping, visiting friends

road or rail? Talk about - the pros and cons of
each kind - reasons for and the importance of
travelling

    the place of destination

HERE are some ideas about how to spend a holiday.
Choose two of them you like most and talk about
them the reasons for your choice and what you
would change if you could
  • Traveller 1 Travel is not only about gondola
ride along a Venetian canal or the Changing of
the Guard at the Buckingham Palace. It is also
about opening up your eyes and your mind to new
worlds, people and ways of life.
  • Traveller 2 As you learn something about other
cultures, you learn something about yourself as
well. Adapting to life in a foreign country is
not all fun and games It can be a difficult
challenge. Succeeding strengthens you and gives
you a sense of achievement and of personal
    satisfaction.
  • Traveller 3 Staying at overpriced hotels, eating
at tourist restaurants, following a programme
planned by your travel agent is not way to
discover a new country. Avoid the major tourist
attractions and discover instead the many
little-known treasures that lie off the main
    path.
  • Traveller 4 Staying in a foreign country for an
extended period of time is the only way to truly
get a feel for its people and culture. Meeting
the people, taking part in their traditions and
customs, becoming part of the daily life is a
much more fulfilling experience. It helps to
promote understanding and bridge the gap that
often exists between people of different
    countries.
