• Has existed since the early times of humanity
• A result of a conflict that has arisen between
  two or more groups leading to extreme acts of
  violence
• Most religions have experienced war and its
  severe consequences of it

Buddhisms Beliefs

• Buddhists believe war is immoral and unjust
• Killing in self defence is not permitted, however
  self defence is allowed so as all life is spared
• War is never justified

Sikhisms Beliefs

• Concept of war called Dharam Yudh
• War must be last resort, and must have a just
  cause.
• Believed only in peace, until 10th Guru became
  more militant.

Hindus Beliefs

• Once encouraged war over peace, in order to
  eliminate evil forces
• Today many followers believe that war is unwanted
  and preventable
• Do not poison arrows, attack from behind.

Judaism

• Before a war is waged, a peace offering must be
  made and a warning of what is to come, if they
  refuse the offering
• Peace is looked upon as something from God and
  that it cannot be achieved unless there is a form
  of respect and harmony between all people
• Judaism is a peaceful religion that despises
  war(s) of any type

Islams Beliefs

• Muslims believe in a just war doctrine
• There must be a just cause for war to occur
  i.eself defence
• The reasons for war must be moral and just, as
  well the actual war must be conducted in a just
  and moral manner

Shintoism

• Strong belief in peace
• It isnt part of their religion to use violence
  (or war for this matter) as an answer to a
  problem or conflict
• The true way of a human is not through the easy
  path of violence but through the difficult task
  of peace!

Catholic Church

• For peace, unless there is a just cause for war
  as stated in the just war doctrine
• War violates the Fifth Commandment
• The teachings of the Catholic Church have evolved
  through many conflicts
