believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do
they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have
prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out
of those who have been given the Book, until they
pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and
they are in a state of subjection.

FROM THE QURAN   "9.30" And the Jews say Uzair
is the son of Allah and the Christians say The
Messiah is the son of Allah these are the words
of their mouths they imitate the saying of those
who disbelieved before may Allah destroy them
how they are turned away! "9.31" They have
taken their doctors of law and their monks for
lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah son
of Marium and they were enjoined that they should
serve one God only, there is no god but He far
from His glory be what they set up (with Him).
"9.32" They desire to put out the light of
Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not
consent save to perfect His light, though the
unbelievers are averse.

and silver and do not spend it in Allah's way,

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 266l Narrated Salim
Abu An-Nadr (the freed slave of 'Umar bin
'Ubaidullah) I was Umar's clerk. Once Abdullah
bin Abi Aufa wrote a letter to 'Umar when he
proceeded to Al-Haruriya. I read in it that
Allah's Apostle in one of his military
expeditions against the enemy, waited till the
sun declined and then he got up amongst the
people saying, "O people! Do not wish to meet the
enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you
face the enemy, be patient, and remember that
Paradise is under the shades of swords." Then he
said, "O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book,
and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of
the clans, defeat them, and grant us victory over
them."

its dwellers were women." The people asked, "O
Allah's Apostle! What is the reason for that?" He
replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It

ungrateful to Allah)?" He replied, "They are not
thankful to their husbands and are ungrateful for
the favors done to them. Even if you do good to
one of them all your life, when she seems some
harshness from you, she will say, "I have never
seen any good from you.' "

Al-Khudri We got female captives in the war
booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with
them. So we asked Allah's Apostle about it and he
said, "Do you really do that?" repeating the
question thrice, "There is no soul that is
destined to exist but will come into existence,
till the Day of Resurrection."

more perfect than the woman in creation, and
intelligence, and in the religious sphere, such
as the suitability to be a judge, and a leader in
worship. Also, the testimony of the man is twice
that of the woman. So that whoever is given great
responsibilities must be given correspondingly
great privileges. As the woman is deficient in
intelligence and of great lust, if she is given
much money, much corruption will be the result. "

deficient in our intelligence and religion?' He
said 'Is not the evidence of two women equal to
the witness of one man?' They replied in the
affirmative. He said 'This is the deficiency of
your intelligence' ... 'Isn't it true that a
woman can neither pray nor fast during her
menses?' The women replied in the affirmative.
He said 'This is the deficiency in your
