- Survey club members to find out their talents in
singing, playing musical instruments, dancing,
acting, etc. - Assist club members in organizing STF entry in a
specific category - Organize a project group to create a STF skit
about their project i.e. Foods Nutrition - Recreation Team/Ambassador Team

- Encourage individual as well as team entries in
STF - Coaches establish schedule for practice and set
guidelines for participation involve parents in
initial meeting to get their support - Team members should be flexible everyone should
become familiar with all the parts/characters in
case someone has to drop out/miss a performance

- Personal experience
- Base script on a childrens book, poem, etc.
- Base script on a popular TV show or movie
- Search the internet for scripts/skits
- Look at puppet skits for ideas
- Look for something NEW and FRESH not the same
story lines that have been done a lot! - Other ideas?
12Tips on Finding/Creating Props
- Make it mobile
- Keep it simple sometimes less is more
- Borrow from schools or other sources (One Act
Play, churches, etc) - Be creative! Recycle old things into props that
will work well for your skit - In some situations, it works for the props to be
larger than life
13Tips on Costuming
- Recycle! Shop at Goodwill or other second hand
stores - Borrow from schools, churches, etc.
- Dress for the part if the character is OLD,
dress in clothes that an old person would wear! - Make-Up is important for the audience to be able
to see facial expressions - Explore costume shops and websites for ideas
