Attention all inhabitants from Planet Earth Your
environment is under tremendous stress from
overflowing litter thrown by inconsiderate
people. To save your planet, youll need to find
as many unwanted materials as you can to turn
them into useful items. The mission youll be
assigned is Operation Green Alert.

What is Operation Green Alert? You will recycle
the unwanted materials youve found into cool,
fancy-looking, ultra-innovative Lanterns that
everyone will want to get their hands onto. You
will have succeeded in your mission Operation
Green Alert if youve used at least 2 unwanted
materials in your home-made, super-duper cool
lantern. Before you begin your mission, learn as
much as you can about Recycling.

More on 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle To help
save the inhabitants of Planet Earth, everyone
has a part to play. We can help to minimise the
litter generated by adopting the 3Rs - Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle.
Reduce - to avoid unnecessary waste
generation. Reuse - to use again. Recycle - to
convert unwanted things into useful and
marketable recycled products.

At School Reduce Purchase more durable devices
and items eg. plastic folders instead of paper
folders. Purchase refillable items eg.
mechanical pencils and refillable pens. Pin
notices on notice boards instead of making copies
to distribute. Switch off light, fan and
electronic appliances when not in use. Reuse
Use both sides of paper for writing,
calculations and problem solving etc. Pass
unwanted textbooks and assessment books to
others. Donate old story books to the school
library. Recycle Participate in your school's
recycling programme. Purchase and use recycled
products.

want to collect and how you can collect them Step
2 Research on how you can put your materials
together to make into an ultra-cool Lantern (how
to light it) Step 3 DO IT you may ask your
family members for some help, but not all, as
this is YOUR mission Step 4 Bring your lanterns
to school on 14 September, submit to your Form
