About This Guide
  • This guide is designed to give you a quick
    overview of Indusoft Web Studio (IWS) development
    software without having to performing tedious
    step-by-step exercises common to more
    traditional guides.
  • This is intended to be a visual guide with
    emphasis placed on showing you where to
    accomplish certain tasks within the program. For
    more in depth information please refer to the PDF
    getting started guide and tutorial on this CD.
  • This demo program will operate the development
    system for 40 hrs of actual run time. After 40
    hrs you will be able to run applications only, no
    changes can be made from the development area of
    the program.

System Requirements
  • This IWS (Indusoft Web Studio) Demo does not
    require a 2680 Series instrument.
  • You need a Pentium II class computer with 64 Meg
    RAM,
  • 100 MB free disk space and Windows 98 or later.
  • Some functions are not available in the demo
    version

This is a fully functional Web Studio software
package. It is limited to forty hours of
continuous run-time for Demo purposes. During
these 40 hours you may use any available
development tools to build and save applications.
After 40 hours you may no longer save or develop
applications but may continue to run this
demonstration program.

Installing IWS Demo
  • Insert the Demonstration CD into your computer.
  • Click on Demo software, Indusoft Web Studio, and
    follow the installation directions.
  • If Auto-run is disabled on your computer select
    the Start button, choose Run, (your drive letter)
    \ Launch.exe. Then click on Demo software,
    Indusoft Web Studio, and follow the installation
    directions.
  • Uninstall may be accomplished through Windows
    control panel , Add / Remove Software utility.
  • If you have difficulty with this installation you
    may contact Fluke Corporation at 1-800-44- Fluke
    and ask for Data Acquisition Support.

Chocolate Application
This is an example of a Batch process. All
motion, levels, speeds and temperatures are
being controlled, monitored from a Fluke 2640
Series and a PLC (Programmable Logic
controller). Recipes are loaded in a data base
and may be recalled and loaded to the PLC.
Click on the 2640 Series to view a separate
monitor screen. Shown on the next slide.

IWS Trend and Meter Example
This trend chart is a standard tool available
to IWS users
Individual meters and bargraphs are standard
library symbols that can be tied to any system
tag to display information.

IWS Demo Alarm Screen
Use the toggle switches and slide switches to
turn on DIO and create alarms
Active toggle switches control DIO, relays or
user defined functions
Alarm screen shows active alarms in the system.
This active screen was developed from simple
tools using IWS development software

Select Display then OK
Go to File, New, Display
Right Click on the object to open properties
dialog
Select an analog meter from the library and Drag
it to the new screen Then select a Slider from
the library list and drag to the new screen

Click on Replace and enter Meter under New
Tag. Do this for both the slider and the
meter.

Then click the Save (disk Icon) in the menu
bar. Now Click on the Run Application Icon

Inputs to your application may come from many
different sources such as Transmitters, DAQ
systems, PLCs or computers. This gives you some
idea of how quickly and easily elements can be
linked together. If you have questions about
