Foal

• A foal is a baby horse under the age of 1.

Colt

• A young male horse under the age of 4.

Filly

• A young female horse under the age of 4.

Stallion

• A male horse over four years of age that is a
  father to a foal.

Mare

• A female horse over four years of age that can
  mother a foal.

• Equipment that makes riding horses easier and
  safer.

Saddle

• Seat for the rider that fastens to the horses
  back.

• Shoes are nailed to the horses hoof to protect
  the horses hooves from the ground.

Bridle
Bit

• Made of metal or rubber
• and is worn inside the
• horses mouth.

• Fits over the head of the horse and holds the bit
  in the horses mouth.

Reins

• Leather or rope connected to the bridle. It is
  used to steer the horse.
