Purpose
  • This game is a follow up to the Ocean Life
    PowerPoint in which 2nd graders were introduced
    to the idea that systems are made up of many
    different animals and each animal has many parts
    serving many different functions.
  • This game will help students identify some
    characteristics of the living organisms SHARKS.

How do you do it?
  • Sharks have 5 different kinds of fins.
  • 2 pectoral fins lift the shark.
  • 2 pelvic fins stabilize the shark.
  • 1 or 2 dorsal fins stabilize the shark.
  • Not all sharks have an anal fin, but it provides
    stability for the sharks that do have one.
  • The tail fin moves the shark forward.
