7Reasons All-Star, 5F 9 uses 34 inch Hurley
1. To get sliotar into my hand faster 2. I
dont get hooked as easily or as often as I
would with longer Hurley 3. I can swing the

16 Size of Hurley I have always
used a short Hurley. It is easier to produce the
wristy swing that is required in hurling with a
shorter Hurley
Weight of Hurley Power comes from the speed of
the Hurley rather than the weight. I have
always gone for a light Hurley
17Shorter Hurley

19Hurley Length Test (Suggestion)
- Ask player to stand erect, looking straight
ahead, with hands by - his/her side.
- The correct length player can shake hands
comfortably with top of - handle. Still looking straight ahead- arms
extended down side of - body.
- Using the above grip with dominant hand ask
player to extend it - straight out from the shoulder. Thumb of
dominant hand on the upper - edge for control and stability.
- If Hurley correct length and weight player
should be able to keep it - extended without too much discomfort for
20/30 seconds.
