• After it touches a Team B player
• After it breaks the plane of and remains beyond
  Team Bs restraining line

Defensive Actions to Cause False Start (7-1-5-a-4)

• Stationary position within one yard of the line
  of scrimmage
• Quick, abrupt actions not part of normal
  defensive movement
• Obvious attempt to cause an offensive player to
  false start

• Move straight downfield, parallel with sideline
• Square off, mark progress with downfield foot
• Come in on close plays 4th down, goal line
• Tough call Runner down or score at goal line

• Reporting fouls
• Offense / Defense, Kicking / Receiving
• Live Ball / Dead Ball
• During runback, kick, etc.

• Line Judge
• Indicate spot on appropriate 5-yd line for L
