1. Describe

• Make a list of at least 15 things you see in the
  artwork the list can be made up of
  objects/things, colours and shapes.
• Make an effort to use single words in your list
  for example house, cat, blue, etc.

2. Analyse

• In three full sentences analyze where things are
  in the artwork. Do not analyze what is happening
  but instead explain where things are.
• For example There is a large, yellow moon in the
  upper right corner of the painting.

3. Interpret

• In three full sentences explain what you think
  the artwork is about you must include evidence
  to support your idea. Your explanation must be
  (and sound!) intelligent.
• For example I believe that the artwork is about
  a political leader because the painting is filled
  with a group of men who appear to be gathered
  around and listening to a speaker.

• Share as much information as you can about the
  artist and the artwork. Use information you have
  been given in class or do research on your own.

5. Judgment

  before making a judgment.
• In two sentences answer the question Does the
  artwork appeal to you? (Start your answer with
  the phrase the artwork does/does not appeal to
  me because.)

  Is the artwork good? Support each answer with
  reasons.
