Definition of Diversity and Multicultural
Education

• Diversity is characteristics that make a person
  unique such as
• ethnicity
• language
• religion
• age
• race
• socio-economics
• gender
• cognitive abilities

• Multicultural Education is
• ability to understand and appreciate other
  cultures and aid in unique learning tools to help
  teach a diverse group.

Bilingual Education

• Bilingual Education can be helpful for students
  trying to learn to master English, especially in
  English as a second language classes (ESOL).

Strategies to Reduce Racism

• I will try to treat everyone as an equal and
  practice acceptance.
• I will embrace students uniqueness, while not
  pointing them out as huge differences to the
  class.

Becoming Aware of Differences

• As a teacher I will try to talk to my students
  one on one when possible.
• I will also communicate with the parents through
  conferences
• I will also assign projects where students get a
  chance to show their unique aspects.
