Title: Status of CTF MC production at UTA

1
Status of CTF MC production at UTA
  • Samples being processed with p13.05
  • Templates submitted for
  • Z?ee, ??, ?? 25k each
  • W?e?, ??, ?? 25k each
  • QCD pTgt20 100k
  • 40 100k
  • 80 50k
  • Files for various stages showing up in SAM
search for CTF13 (note new naming convention)
  • d0gstar/sim 340 files
  • tmb/reco 130 files (Z, We?)
  • First set being run with 1.5? -- 2.0? and 2.5? to
    follow
  • Need a way to distinguish files
  • These should be finished within 7-10 days
  • What other sets needed?
  • Other processes ?jet,
  • Other noise values?
  • MinBias overlays? (MC? Data?)
  • Non-uniform ZeSu runs? (eg. higher for
    CH than rest)
  • HAVE TO MAKE CHOICES NOW
  • Possible interference with Moriond production?
  • Solved production problems during holiday period
  • Changing the zero suppression threshold took many
    tries
  • Storing files in SAM was not straightforward
    either

2
CTF endgame
  • Original end date 15 Jan 2003 gives no chance
to finish production, look at new samples
  • Proposal
  • ask for extension of 2-4 weeks
  • 3 aspects of endgame
  • Online threshold
  • Decide before end of shutdown
  • Any reasons to stay below 2??
  • Constraints from DAQ/storage?
  • Higher cut for ?gt3.2?
  • Offline scheme
  • Possibly different thresholds for CH and rest
    (code modification)
  • Any need for more thresholds?
  • Algorithmic modifications on CTF timescale? 4-2
    scheme?
  • Documentation, including suggestions for future
    work
  • Studies to finish (will need names assigned to
    each one)
  • Impact on EM resolution
  • Impact on jet response and resolution (after
removing CH or keeping a fixed high threshold)
  • Impact on jet profiles
  • Impact on ? vs QCD separation
  • Impact on isolated muons
  • Protections against fake jets
  • Protections for MET
  • Any further plans for
  • More verification/development of simulation code?
  • Changes to noise/zesu files?
