Next steps for stakeholders in alternative care
in Europe

• Translation
• First step is done translation from Legalese
  into the language of young people
• translate from English and Russian into national
  languages
• Distribution
• make sure young people receive the booklet
• ensure state authorities receive it to inform
  policy and practice
• involve care-providing organisations and agencies
  in the distribution to children and young people
  in care
• Support the work with the booklet
• encourage young people to meet, discuss and make
  decisions using the information contained in the
  booklet
• support their capacity-building to carry out such
  activities

Lessons for the future

• Young people are the best advocates for their
  right to be heard.
• Young people have concrete solutions to offer
  regarding their care process.
• Meaningful participation needs time and financial
  resources.
• Involve young people from the beginning of the
  project allow space and time for their ideas
  during the project.
• Youth-friendly language it has to be meaningful
  and relate to concrete experience young people
  make at their age.
