• - Poverty Reduction Committee-

Establishment of the Committee

• The new Poverty Reduction Committee of the
  National Assembly was established on May 30, 2003
  by way of Additions to the Rules of Procedure

• It was constituted and became operational on
  April 8 2004

• The Committee has 15 members from 6 Par. parties

• 27 session have been held

• Its activities are supported by UNDP, EAR, OSCE

Field of Work

• Defined by Article 68v of the Rules of Procedure

- The Poverty Reduction Committee defines the
manner of participation of the National Assembly
in the implementation of the PRS review draft
laws, by-laws and other regulations and issues
from the standpoint of the PRS implementation
overviews the process of adopting and allocating
the budget in relation to the PRS implementation
provides suggestions, comments and evaluation of
the PRS implementation and engages in the
institutionalization and participation of citizen
representatives in the process of adopting
decisions relating to the PRS implementation.

• Established in September 2006
• The aim of the Forum is to gather all partners in
  the PRS implementation through regular meetings
  in order to inform each other by representing
  their respective initiatives, exchange examples
  of good practices and initiate initiatives for
  addressing problems recognized in the
  implementation process

• Participants supported the Forum idea, concluded
  that up to 4 annual meetings should be organized
  and suggested topics which should be discussed at
  the following Forum meetings.
