• A 2 year project created to promote the ethos of
  the group.
• Began in May 2000 and was based at the Access
  Unit at the University of Bristol.

• QAA code of practice (1999)
• HEFCE 1999

Disability Rights Commission

• A society where all disabled people can
  participate fully as equal citizens
• Code of Practice for providers of post 16
  education and related services

Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001

• from September 1st 2002
• discrimination against disabled students in the
  provision of education, training and other
  related services will become unlawful
