Welcome Parents

• This is an instructional tutorial on the student
  information system software currently being
  utilized by the Donovan Community Unit School
  District 3.
• STI Information NOW!!!Parent Portal

What is Information NOW?

• Online Student Information System
• Secure Internet access 24 hours a day.
• Pro-active approach to monitoring your childs
  academic performance at school.
• Accessible anywhere you have Internet access.
• Easy to use.
• Absolutely NO cost to parents.

4 Steps to Success!!

Step 1-Sign-up for a Parent Portal user account
at your childs school.

Step 2-Find a computer with Internet access.

Step 3-Enter your username.Your username will be
issued by your childs school.

Step 4-Enter the default password and then change
your password.Type in the password issued by
your childs school and then type in a new
password of your choice twice. Click OK.

How to use the Parent Portal Main MenuThe main
menu is located on the left hand side of the
screen. It shows the Home Page, School Calendar
and Student Information sections.

Home Page SectionThe Information NOW Home Page
section is where you will find the daily
announcements for your childs school. You can
find important dates for students, staff,
community meetings, sports cancellations,
fundraisers, and upcoming events. The home page
is updated every day and is an accurate look at
your childs day at school.

School Calendar SectionThe school calendar gives
you an accurate picture of the attendance
schedule for students for the entire year.Click
on Attendance, then click the Refresh button.

School Calendar SectionThe Events calendar shows
specific events going on at your childs school
during that month. Click on Events, then click
the Refresh button.

School Events CalendarClick on the month you
would like to view, and then click the Refresh
button.

Student Information Section

• The Student Information section will allow you to
  view grades, class schedules, attendance,
  discipline, and demographic information on your
  child.
• Once in the Student Information section, you can
  also view an unofficial report card or transcript
  for your child. Transcript only available for
  high school students.

How to use the Parent Portal submenuThe
Information Now submenu is located just below
your childs name in the Student Information
Section of the software. Click on the text to
access each area.

Homework Section

Homework SectionSelect the Week View to view all
homework assignments for the week. Click Refresh.

Progress Section

Progress Section
Click on progress to view a detailed list of
classroom assignments, and the scores associated
with each activity.

SCHEDULE

Schedule Submenu

• The schedule area shows an accurate picture of
  your childs current academic school year.
• You can view the room number, teachers name,
  section number and period that your child attends
  each class this academic school year.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance Submenu

• The attendance area shows an accurate view of
  your childs attendance for the 2008-2009
  academic school year.
• Parents can view daily attendance, period
  absences and check-ins and check-outs on your
  child.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline Submenu

• In the Discipline area you can view any
  dispositions or infractions your child may accrue
  during the school year.
• Parents can view the date of the incident, what
  disposition was given, and even note on the
  incident.

DEMOGRAPHICS

Demographics Submenu

• The Demographic area shows all pertinent
  information in regards to your child.
• Parents can view Personal information, Mailing
  Address information, Identification information,
  Origin/Residency and Special Services information
  on their child.
• If you notice any incorrect information in this
  area, please inform school personnel as soon as
  possible.

What you need to know about student report cards!

• The report cards in Information NOW are updated
  at the end of each nine week grading period.
  Reports accessed in between the grading periods
  will only show the grades issued at the end of
  the last grading period.
• An accurate view of a report card can be viewed
  10 days after the end of each nine week grading
  period.

Unofficial Transcripts

What you need to know about unofficial
transcripts!

• Because the information found on an official
  transcript is updated on a daily basis for high
  school students, not all information will be
  listed on the unofficial transcript accessible in
  Information NOW Parent Portal.
• For an official transcript, please see the
  guidance counselor. Cost of an official
  transcript is 5.00.
