RigNet Objective
  • To achieve an efficient and uniform process in
    working
  • with IT, telecomm and network infrastructure,
    thus
  • providing improvements
  • Reduce mobilising and demobilising costs by
    saving time and effort
  • Reduce operation costs by implementing and
maintaining a permanent, flexible and cost
    effective IT and telecommunications
    infrastructure
  • Enable teamwork on board and between the offshore
installation and the support teams onshore by
improving the availability of IT Services
  • Maintain a uniform service level for all parties

One Standard for All Industrial Data !
  • Create a language that is computer readable
  • A common grammar for all industries (Data Model
    (DM))
  • A dictionary for each industry (Reference Data
    Libraries (RDL))
  • One solution is ISO 15926 (www.posccaesar.com)
and the methodology is defined in ISO
    18876 (www.iso18876.org)

The Reference Data System
  • The RDS is a web based and user friendly
software for storing, accessing, editing and
    exchanging the RDL
  • The system has been developed by POSC Caesar and
EPM and is funded by EPM, DNV and the Norwegian
    Ministry of Defence
  • It easy to suggest improvements or extensions to
the RDL from any place on the Internet
  • The RDS will be available for all members of
    POSC Caesar by February, 2002

DrillingWeb
  • OLF is in the process of establishing a Work
Group for - if possible - to establish a common
solution for collaboration in drilling projects
  • LiveLink solution provided by ProCoNet has been
used by Hydro in several drilling projects and is
now planned to be used by Norske Shell

25
26
Statoils Åsgard B and Kristin Projects
  • Statoil in a joint project with Intergraph has
developed an ISO 15926 based Data Warehouse
  • SmartPlant Foundation
  • In the Kristin Project Statoil requires that
technical information is delivered according to
    ISO 15926

26
27
Enterprise Software Solutions, Inc.
  • Statoil hired ESSI in as expert on APIs in
addition to Intergraph on Åsgard B Project
  • ESSI build later on a Data Warehouse based on an
early version of the POSC Caesar standard for
    Chevron
  • ESSI has now Bechtel, Flour, Halliburton, Chevron
    and BP as customers

TietoEnators Energy Components
Energy Components is a complete set of software
building blocks which are combined to form a
modern and flexible system for data acquisition,
production monitoring, reporting, allocation and
hydrocarbon accounting. The components may be
employed individually, in a mix with other
components, or in a complete technical-to-business
integration model from production to sales. All
components have been designed according to
reusability and configurability principles. New
oil and gas operations are easily implemented
without any major programming efforts. Rather,
once an operation is modelled and the appropriate
allocation scheme is described, then the system
is ready to serve that particular operation.
Energy Components is used over a plethora of
different operations all having their specific
needs and requirements including oil, gas and
gas/condensate fields, transportation systems,
oil / gas / LPG terminals and administration of
sales contracts and deliveries.
