1
Why Books are Dangerous
  • Book by Neil Gaiman
  • PowerPoint by Raegan

2
Do YOU Know These Words??
  • Confiscated- took someones property by
    authority.
  • Frisk- to search someone or something.
  • Interrogated- asked questions harshly or in great
    detail.
  • Fragments- small pieces that are broken off.
  • Sarcastic- describes sharp or bitter words that
are meant to hurt or make fun of someone.

3
Author's Purpose
  • I think the authors purpose was to express an
    opinion.
  • I think this because not everyone thinks books
are dangerous he just did because they always got
him in trouble from his own experiences.

4
Are Books Really Dangerous???
  • I think that books can be dangerous. Maybe not
for the same reasons, but they can be.
  • For example, you can throw a hardcover book and
hit someone. Or you could throw any type of book
and hit someone in the eye, but you can do either
of those with anything you have.

5
Why Should YOU Read this Book?!?
  • I recommend this book because its about a real
boy who gets in trouble, but things happen that
    you would not expect.
  • Theres this one part in the end of the book
where he reaches in his pocket to get his
handkerchief and pulls out a piece of toffee.
Then, the headmaster is SMOKING in school and
    spanks him with a SLIPPER.
  • This book is highly recommended.
