Background

• Initiated by Commissioner Gordon Goodin
• Supported by findings of the South End Tomorrow
  Committee
• Response to Growth Demands in the Community

Purpose

• Develop a Vision for the Future of Navarre
• Determine how and where growth and development
  can/should occur
• Establish Guidelines for Development such as
  Overlay Districts
• Recommend Priorities and Financing Alternatives

Public Participation

• Citizen Centered Community Driven
• Active Public Participation Ensures
• The plan more accurately reflects your needs
  concerns
• That you have ownership in the plan a vested
  interest in its implementation
• That the plan cannot be ignored

Scope of Project

• Identified Four Focus Areas
• Land Use
• Infrastructure
• Architectural Guidelines
• Landscaping Guidelines

Working Groups

• Four working groups will each be tasked with
  handling one of these focus areas
• Meet 1-2 times per month from April through June
• Sign-up sheets for participation on the working
  groups will be available after the meeting

Steering Committee

• Each working group will elect a chairman who will
  sit on the steering committee
• This committee is tasked with synthesizing the
  recommendations of each group to complete the plan

Plan Implementation

• Upon Adoption by the BOCC, appropriate County
  Departments and Community Entities will be
  responsible for implementing the recommendations

Purpose of Tonights Meeting

• Get input at the outset to direct not only the
  final product, but the planning process
• You Identify Common Issues and Goals to Guide the
  Development of the Plan
• You Determine What Issues to Address

Buzz Groups

• Break into small groups to discuss a series of
  questions
• Report your answers/main discussion points to the
  whole group
