7Key Challenges to the implementation of MeTA
- Stakeholder engagement and maintaining interest
- Insufficient legislation/regulation and excessive
bureaucracy - Difficulties in extracting information
- Lack of tools for accessing information
8Lessons learned (1)
- Consensus is the base for MeTA, so it needs a
constant exchange of views - Commitment of people is key
- Multi-stakeholder process is not easy
- Legal entity of MeTA is difficult and needs to be
linked to other organizations - Support of MeTA International Secretariat is
vital - MeTA members can learn from each other and shape
government policy

- Staying focused on the objectives will drive the
process forward - Actors in MeTA need medicines and management
expertise - MeTA should take note of political issues
