Background

• Telerehab has potential to deliver
  speech-language therapy to rural areas,
  especially areas that lack specialized services
• Current systems composed mostly of high-end,
  proprietary technology modules
• Introduces two challenges
• lack of availability (cost)
• lack of individual therapy personalization support

• Internet technology offer low-cost solution to
  availability readily available equipments are
  sufficient to support online assessment of motor
  speech disorders in adults
• Personal health record approach allows a design
  capable of delivering personalized therapy.

• Virtual Cosmobot a computer-based application
  designed to enhance children's communication
  function
• Telerehab protocol requires two types of
  communication channel
• active, real-time communication channel
  substitute for onsite monitoring
• passive, store-and-forward communication channel
  evaluate child's progress and personalize
  individual goals and plans
