7Multilevel Governance in RIS
Interactive process involving various forms of
partnerships and collaboration used to set
priorities, implement policies and assess their
impact and effectiveness. Dispersion of
decision-making across multiple territorial
levels, such as the European, national and
sub-national. Vertical integration (i.e.
linkages between higher and lower levels of
governance) and horizontal integration (i.e.
bridging and coordinating different policy
domains, and different public and private
actors).
