The Working Group objectives

• To bring together 15 IRE member regions in order
  to encourage the exchange of knowledge and
  experience about the development and
  implementation of regional innovation systems.

Multilevel Governance in RIS
Interactive process involving various forms of
partnerships and collaboration used to set
priorities, implement policies and assess their
impact and effectiveness. Dispersion of
decision-making across multiple territorial
levels, such as the European, national and
sub-national. Vertical integration (i.e.
linkages between higher and lower levels of
governance) and horizontal integration (i.e.
bridging and coordinating different policy
domains, and different public and private
actors).
