• Download .iso file, burn onto a CD
• Boot your machine from the CD
• Self-installs during the boot process
• Runs entirely in memory (128 MB)
• Doesnt touch disk (unless admin action)
• Starts with own desktop and browser

Safe Browsing

• K-browser for risky email (as webmail)
• Spyware/trojans probably fail to install
• (Because this isnt windows)
• If they do install, its only in memory
• Disappears after shutdown reboot
• Same for general (risky) browsing
• Cookies disappear, too

System Repair

• Knoppix still runs, if Windows wont
• Mount hard disk, find homework, etc.
• Copy important files to a safer place
• Flash drive, FTP, CD burn, network file system
• Replace damaged Windows system files
• Copy from a similar (undamaged) system
• Now, maybe your system will run again ?
• Virus scan (Knoppix Hack 78)
