39Transfer Orders for Bitstream
- Where the customer already has broadband service
from another provider a transfer order must - be submitted as opposed to a provide order. A
transfer pre-order must first be submitted. The
- order sequence is described below
- OAO submits a Transfer Pre Order
- Losing operator receives notification of
Pre-order and can submit a block within 5 days.
- If a block is applied OAO will be aware of this,
as the status of the pre-order will change on the
web portal - If no block is entered by the losing operator
within 5 days then the status of the order will
move to transfer Allowed and a Transfer
Bitstream order can be placed. - If block is entered and removed (up to day 11)
then the status of the order will move to
transfer Allowed and a transfer order can be
placed by the Gaining OAO. The order must be
placed 5 days after the block order being
removed, otherwise the order would expire and the
process must begin again. - If block is received and not removed then
transfer pre-order expires at day 11 and the
process commences again. This is unlikely to
happen. - Where the losing operator is providing a
broadband service to the customer over line
sharing as opposed to bitstream a Transfer Pre
Order from Line Sharing should be submitted. It
is unlikely that a customer will know which
wholesale product they are on so it is
recommended that a Transfer Pre Order Bitstream
is first submitted. If the customer is on Line
Sharing this order will then be rejected and a
Trasnfer Pre Order from Line Sharing should be
submitted. The reject reason will be broadband
service is not currently available on the line.

different bitstream reports from the web portal.
These are explained below. The search screen

with the customer) the process to block a
customer in this scenario is shown in the
following screens. Bitstream Loss Notifications
- a report outlining a log of all loss
notifications sent to OAO. Bitstream ID Changes
- Where a Port ID has changed e.g. where a
bitstream customer has been moved to a new port
on the DSL platform, due to e.g. a fault on their
existing port.
