Ground Schools
  • We have a Private Pilot Ground School starting
    July 29th (7/29-9/25). This class is full.
  • We have a G1000 Ground School starting July 29th
    (evening classes). This class is full. The G1000
    classes are limited to 5 openings. Well be
    running a second G1000 class, maybe the week of
    August 6th. If interested, please contact Mark
    Smith.

  • utilize both the outer and inner ramp taxi

  • know your Hot Start procedure. If not, review
    with your instructor
  • Hot Weather/Effect on Engine Ops
  • - lean mixture properly for takeoff
  • - limit your time running engine at 1800 RPM
    (Before Takeoff Check)

  • - watch out for standing TFRs associated with
    sporting events, fire fighting, etc.

    was the last day this year that Albuquerque had a
    temperature of 40F? April 28 at 359 a.m. The
    next "Standard" day may not be until October.

  • Today, we have 81 "active" members!
  • However...not everyone is really "active"
  • What does an "active" member mean?
  • As a club, we need to define this.
  • Frequency of flights...how many hours per month?
  • From a safety perspective, we don't want someone
    that hasn't flown in 90 days to just go out and
    fly...currency is critical to safety.

    determine who's current
