  that our immune system can recognize
• Fall into two classes
• Class I Found on all cells that have a nucleus
• Class II Found only in a few type of cells
• Proteins are unique from individual to individual
• Controlled by group of genes called the Major
  Histocompatibility Complex (MHC)
