2512. Some notes
- ACS lab task Pages 1 /2 - General
- Although the PCs in TB2.01C are probably not
networked as in the previous Microprocessor Lab,
these PCs have been configured for network
operation on the ESTUD domain managed by the Dept
of Engineering Technology. - Even if not networked features such as the
computer name can still be used locally - Make sure you record where you got your results
from. - CPU Performance Sandra Lite 2009
- Sandra can be used to provide industry standard
benchmarks - These results can be recorded here but will
require some extra research into what is measured
by the Dhrystone benchmarks etc - Note the results can be compared with other
processors select a good sample for use in your
report - Processor etc
- Processor information can be obtained from Sandra
but cpu-z is also a useful tool - Buses
- The buses on a PC interconnect the various
components these PCs are now quite old so dont
feature PCIe slot(s) or SATA drives - However record the information as given
- USB information can be very confusing
- EHCI Controllers only handle 480 Mbps the lower
speeds 1.5 and 12 Mbps are handled by UHCI
Controllers
