• 1. Secure loose clothing and long hair.
• 2. Wear Safety goggles.
• 3. Make sure rubber tubing is securely attached.
• 4. Make sure burner is securely placed on your
  lab bench at least 6in away from the edge of the
  table.
• 5. Turn on gas slowly. Check tubing for leaks.
• 6. Do not lean over the barrel when lighting

• 7. Do not touch barrel of the bunsen burner once
  it is lit. Use the collar to adjust flame.
• 8. Never leave your lab station when the burner
  is lit.
• 9. Keep flammable materials away from the burner
  at all times.
• 10. Know the location of the water buckets and
  fire extinguisher.

• 11. ACTION PLAN
• 1. NOTIFIY TEACHER.
• 2. EVERYONE WILL SHUT OFF GAS VALVES
• 3. EVERYONE WILL REMAIN CALM
• 4. 1 PERSON TO OFFICE/ 1 TO NURSE.
• 5. OBTAIN FIRE EXT. OR WATER BUCKET TO DOUSE THE
  FIRE.
