In total the staff of the Institute comprises
1200 persons including 23 Doctors of Sciences and
130 Candidates of Sciences as well as
Academicians of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy
and Academy of the Mining Sciences, Laureates of
the State Awards and other Honourable Prizes.

Researches of the Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk
Divisions have contributed to the discovery,
exploration and exploitation of a number of the
mineral deposits iron, manganese, titanium,
zirconium, mercury, nickel, lead and zinc with
gold and silver, native sulphur, graphite,
potassium-magnesium and soda salt, fresh and
mineral waters, zeolite, kaoline, bentonite,
gemstones and many other kinds of the mineral raw
materials

The Main Division in Kyiv focuses research
attention in solution of the following problems
- seismic-paleogeomorphological analysis of the
oil-gas-bearing layers based on the available
geological and geophysical records - tectonic-sedimentological stratification of the
productive beds - determination and mapping of the prospective
areas and hydrocarbon traps - development of the geological models for the
diverse hydrocarbon traps - preparation of the predictive maps for geological
exploration
