Give your purchases another life!
Survey Information
You can reuse grocery bags and trash bags.
Instead of cups use bottles. Instead of grocery
bags use canvas bags. Reuse bottles for other
drinks again.
4Reusing
Pass on magazines and books to friends. Give
old clothing, and household goods to charitable
organizations. Recharge your batteries.
5Paper

6Glass is back
- We throw away 28 billion glass bottles and jars
each year. - Recycling glass uses 32 less energy and creates
20 less air pollution than making it from all
new material. - To recycle glass just rinse the container and
remove the metal rings and recycle. Dont
recycle broken glass, light bulbs, mirrors and
plate glass. - Old glass can be recycled over and over again.
- Green or amber glasscan protect food and
beverages from light.
7Plastics
- When plastic is recycled it is made into
different things like detergent bottles, park
benches, carpet, T-shirts, stuffing for ski
jackets and other bottles. It can also be made
into toys and heart valves. - Plastic milk jugs can be reused for flowerpots.
- Plastics contain as much energy as petroleum and
natural gas and more energy than other types of
garbage - Plastics take 23 of space on a landfill
8Aluminum
- Recycled aluminum may be reused.
- Reusing aluminum saves energy.
- Aluminum scraps can be recovered, recycled, and
reused endlessly.
9Styrofoam
- When you recycle Styrofoam it gets mixed with
acetone and turns into molds to make more
Styrofoam. - You can use Styrofoam for a lot of things instead
of recycling it.
