Status of the xDR, JINx Software 27.04.06

Status of the JROM software (A.Kounine)
  • V661E frozen on 28.06.2006
  • Documentation is available http//ams.cern.ch/
    AMS/DAQsoft/ROM.pdf
  • Consistent with DAQ program
  • Under tests by X.Cai
  • JROM release for FM JSBCs by 31 July
  • New data types added for consistency with DAQ
  • Modifications for JBUX are expected

JROM Status
  • Version 661E is now ready be to programmed into
    PROM for flight module production now.
  • The current version is support the following main
    functions
  • Support JBU module only (may be changed to
    support JBUX later)
  • Configuration file (see JROM document for detail
    format)
  • Communications via 1553, HRDL, RS422, AMSW and
    CAN
  • Support only the direct command to itself (not
    pass the command to other interfaces)
  • Supported commands are unified with JAP
  • Flash file system and file transfer protocol are
    supported
  • Log file will be written to flash memory

JAP (JOS) Status (X.Cai S.Xu)
  • JOS has not changed since March 2005.
  • JAP has not changed since November 2005. The
    current version supports the following functions
  • Communications via all links including passing
    commands through different interfaces
  • Flash file system and file transfer protocol are
    supported
  • Data acquisition from lower level of the system
    (need to be optimized)
  • Slow control command queue is supported
  • Slow control tasks can be added
  • The following new changes will be done before the
    end of August 2006
  • Modify to support unified commands with JROM
  • Qualification test tasks to be added
  • Configuration and command file support
  • Waiting for the integration test for the
    following functions
  • Trigger control
  • Slow control tasks

Software for Ground Support Computers (X.Cai)
  • New software for ground support computers is
    under development.
  • Supported interfaces HRDL, RS422, 1553, AMSW
    (EPPBOX), CAN (EPPBOX) and TReK Gate.
  • Supported functions
  • General commander
  • Monitors (to be added continuously)
  • Special commander and control programs (Alexei
    has a lot of such program to be modified for the
    new system)
  • Data recorder from all interfaces
  • Goal to have basic functions running before the
    end of 2006.

DAQ Early Integration Test
  • Next round August 2006
  • TOF electronics must be functional
  • Slow Control to be tested
  • Goal develop operation procedures, measure DAQ
    performance.
