History of Betanija

• 1973 Purchase of the building in the center of
  Orahovica to meet the needs of the local church
  and camps
• 1973 First youth camp

• 1973 2005 For 31 consecutive years camps have
  been held (excluding 1992 due to the war) for
  children, teenagers, youth and adults from the
  former Yugoslavia and since the war, from
  Croatia
• 2006 2007 Camps held in Osijek due to
  reconstruction of the building
• 2008 Plans to return the camps to Orahovica
  after completion of the building project

Goals and Purposes of the Camps

• Spreading the Gospel to the unsaved
• Deepening personal relationships with God and
  encouraging discipleship
• Adapting the program for all ages
• Building fellowship and friendships between
  campers
• Providing an active spiritual and physical rest
  in the beautiful nature of Orahovica

Vision of the Local Church in Orahovica

• We believe that God is calling us to build a
  visible building as well as an invisible
  spiritual building according to the text in
  Nehemiah 416-20

• To expand the work of the church to surrounding
  places Kutjevo, Djurdjenovac, and villages near
  Slatina to do this through various ministries
  arts and crafts workshops, English language
  classes, spiritual seminars, concerts
