1CHARLES ISOLATION TRANSFORMERS
WHY USE CHARLES ISOLATION TRANSFORMERS?
- Isolates the Boat from Shore diminishing the
risk of hooking the boat up to an unknown
shore-power source. Potential shore power
problems include surges, spikes, reverse
polarity, potential fire hazards and in water
shock hazards. - UL Marine Listed Transformers Fully encapsulated
have a FULL CURRENT CARRYING Shield. This shield
separates the primary winding from the secondary
of the transformer and ensures isolation from
shore. Resists shock, vibration and changes in
temperature. - Eliminates neutral connections on 120/240 volt
shorelines Protects onboard equipment from
excessive voltage due to lost (or loose) shore
neutral connections and diminishes fire hazards - Eliminates the need for Galvanic Isolators
Polarity Alarms
(On 120 volt shorelines) with no
electronic components, saving
the boat builder material
and labor costs
Charles Industries, Ltd. is the only company
manufacturing a UL Marine Listed Isolation
Transformer/Iso-boost with a FULL CURRENT
CARRYING SHIELD. The Charles isolation
transformers and Iso-boosts are true marine
transformers, designed for marine applications to
ABYC Standards and for use in the marine
environment.
2CHARLES ISO-BOOSTS
The solution for low dock voltage problems
What IS THE ONBOARD EFFECT OF LOW VOLTAGE AT THE
DOCK?
- 208 volts on dock gives 104/208 volts on boat
- 120 volt equipment is often damaged by 104 volts
- AIR CONDITIONING
- REFRIGERATORS
- SMALL MOTORS
- MICROWAVE OVENS
- DIM LIGHTS
- 240 volt equipment is generally OK on 208 volts
3ISO-GUARD ISOLATION TRANSFORMER

This unit was designed to directly compete with
the galvanic isolator/ status monitor. It
provides more benefits to the boat owner
including more onboard electrical protection.
It is an easier installation for the builder and
eliminates customer service calls about galvanic
isolators and status monitors. IT IS A PROVEN
TECHNOLOGY.
