    special request and approval,
  • Student Survey of Instruction (SSI) is to be
administered 2 weeks after each mid-term (Except
when special permission is granted for specific
courses that fall outside of the normal schedule)
  • Duration for all survey administration (to start
and close) should be 2 weeks (Except when special
permission is granted for peculiar circumstance)
  • Completed survey sheets should be sealed in an
    envelope immediately after administration and
returned to the appropriate office/collection box
  • The survey responses for each class should be
returned immediately (or within 24 hours) after
    it has been administered
  • All surveys (packaged with identifying
    markers-division, and within division, class,
instructor, date, time, location, etc) should be
sent to the Office of Institutional
    Effectiveness, Planning Research (OIEPR) within

data cleaning, collating, scanning, and analysis,
the results should be made available not later
than 4 weeks after the start of the next term
following the administration term (Exceptions are
made for special cases when circumstances warrant
that a request is made so that the results of a

  • 2. Part-time Faculty Survey - Given only to
    designated GHC part-time faculty.
  •
  • 3. Climate Survey Given to all GHC full-time
faculty and staff, including academic and
    non-academic administrators.
  •
  • 4. Presently Attending Student Survey (PASS)
Given in class, to all students enrolled at GHC
in the fall and spring semesters respectively.
Usually, in a single semester, a student might
get this more than once. However, we have now
devised a means whereby we are able to redo how
this has been done in the past, and built a
database to select a student only once.
  •
  • Annual Planning Evaluation/Assessment
Documentation Required of all GHC programs of
study Submitted to the Faculty Coordinator for
Assessment (Alan Nichols) Due dates Oct 1 (New
Year Plan, Feb 1 (Progress Follow-up Report),
    and June 1 (End-of-Year Report)

  • Future of Institutionally Mandated Surveys at
    GHC
  • We intend to migrate to new survey software
(Class Climate, by Scantron Corp.) in the fall of

administered survey sheets produced with this new
software in the spring of 2009 as a test
comparison with the current survey development
software packages (Bubble Publishing, Form Shop,
    Top Score by Scanning Dynamics).
