• Weddel Seals have 34 different calls.
• They can be heard for more than 15 miles
  underwater.

BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN

• Bottlenose Dolphins live in groups called pods.
• Both young and old dolphins play together.

BALD EAGLE

• The Bald Eagle is our National symbol.
• Bald Eagles are not really bald. They have white
  feathers on their head, neck and tail.
• The Bald Eagle may use the same nest year after
  year. One nest was found that was 34 years old
  and weighed over 2 tons.

• Emperor Penguins can dive to depths of 1,500
  feet.
• Differences in their calls help to tell the
  difference between males and females.

  They are either a Leopard or Panther.
• The Black Panther is most commonly found in
  southeast Asia.

• An adult Lions roar can be heard up to 5 miles
  way.
• Lions are inactive up to 21 hours a day.
• They hunt in the coolest hours of early morning.

• The Tigers stripes help them hide in the shadows
  of tall grasses.
• A Tiger can eat as much as 88 pounds of meat in
  one feeding.

HIPPOPOTAMUS

• Hippos spend most of their day in water or mud.
• Hippos have lips about 2 feet wide.
• Baby Hippos are born underwater.

  allow it to climb trees.

  point for hunting, and a place to hide their
  food.
• Baby leopards are born blind.

• They use their trunks to smell, eat, drink and

• The Lemur live in the forest in Madagascar.
• They eat mainly fruit, but also leaves, flowers
  and even dirt.

• Bears are excellent climbers, good runners and
  powerful swimmers.
• Bears eat both meat and and plants.
• Bears eat insects, fruit, vegetables, honey and
  some meat.

• They often feed by poking a stick in the ground
  and eating the insects off the stick.

• The Dromedary Camel can drink 30 gallons of water
  in just 10 minutes.
• Camels store fat in their hump - not water.
• Baby camels are born without a hump - they do not
  get a hump until they eat solid food.
